The oldest watchmaker still in business, Vacheron Constantin has never relinquished its reputation as a luxury and prestige brand. Vacheron Constantin was founded in 1755 by Jean-Marc Vacheron. It is the oldest watch brand in the world and is still considered one of the most prestigious watch manufacturers. From the very beginning of the company, innovations followed one another with, among others, the creation of the first watchmaking complication and the first motor-driven dials. In 1810, Jacques-Barthélémy Vacheron succeeded his father as director and was responsible for the first exports to Italy and France. In order to be able to manage this expansion of the market, he joined forces with François Constantin in 1819. It was then that the company, previously called Vacheron, became Vacheron Constantin.
